goin' hikin' :D

A good friend from California starts school at UVU next week (as do Zac and I ><) and asked us if we wanted to hike the Y today. We agreed and then realized we had no idea how to get there! haha We piled into Bradley's car and decided to drive in the general direction of the Y. As we climbed the twisting Provo streets through fancy neighborhoods, we grew unsure of our plan. Then we saw a sign with an arrow pointing to the Y trail! hahaha Awesome! We found where we needed to go and had a complete blast doing so. :)

As we climbed the mountain, I became so aware of how out of shape I am. hhaha It was quite grueling. On the way up, two boys ran past us going down. They had so much energy and life. We watched them stumble their way down, laughing and congratulating everyone they passed. Hate. Instant hate. ;]

At the top, the view was breathtaking. The air was cooler and more gentle. I was pretty sweaty, but goodness. I haven't felt that at peace and happy in a long while. It didn't hurt listening to this song on the way home. :D

bumblebee chelsea (part one)

Sunday evening through this morning was magical. Zac and I got to spend time with his family, who we haven’t seen in about a year. They drove up from California and stayed with a family friend in Syracuse while visiting us. Zac’s four year old brother, Ian, was so excited to see us. He couldn’t stop saying “Zac and…Chelsea!” His little lisp when he says my name just about broke my heart. By the end of their stay, he was calling me “Bumblebee Chelsea.”
Hugging Danielle, Marc, and Amer when they first arrived was so wonderful. Laughs were shared and memories made. Marc made us his famous Sunday breakfast dinner, we played Apples to Apples, and we sat under summer trees watching Ian run about our quad’s playground. We saw The Lorax at the dollar theatre and had an Outback dinner. Amer and I got pedicures together, watching the beach volleyball Olympics. And we had dinner last night with the Latham’s in Syracuse (yummy kfc haha). Zac and I had a super soaker fight, rode an airplane, and I clucked at the chickens. Then we had game after game of volleyball. I may or may not have hit the ball over the fence several times... haha Most fun I’ve had in a long time! We got back into Provo last night around midnight or so and they camped out in our small Wymount living room. We hugged them goodbye this morning as they pulled out of our parking lot.
I’m one lucky girl having married into such an awesome family!
:]
Part Two coming soon!
(more pictures haha)

i a m p r o u d o f m y s e l f

 My summer job ended yesterday.
Back in April, my calls averaged around 350+ seconds.
At the end of my stay with Devcon, my average dropped down to 264.
My fastest average for a day?
216 seconds.
:]
Bam that's how it's done.
See how happy I was yesterday? haha
I wanted to make each call count, so I didn't pay too much attention on keeping my average down. I focused on each customer, sales rep, and technician. One adorable old man asked me at the end of a call if I was a voice recording. I laughed and said I was indeed real. He laughed for a long time. Smiles all around. Also, Zac and I decided to compare our call stats of the day and relate them to pokemon stats. We divided the different calls into five categories (Credit Checks//HP, Welcome//Attack, Tech Set Up//Defense, Signals and QA//Special, Other//Speed). I TOTALLY WON. My HP and Attack doubled Zacs, but my defense was quite low. hahaha He's the greatest, right?

After work, Josh, Zac, and I went to In-N-Out for some celebrating.
Today, Zac went to work while I stayed home to get ready for his family coming to visit.
Here's how my day went:
Alarm went off at nine.
Woke up multiple times, got out of bed at 9:40.
Washed face, put on clothes, kissed Zac goodbye, went on errands with Emily and Tim.
Zac worked from 11am-7pm.
I came home from errands, napped, cleaned the house, did the laundry, vacuumed (thank you Bro//Sis Black!!) washed dishes, and almost finished the bathroom before Zac got home.
On my way to and fro the laundromat, I found a rather odd thing hiding behind some bushes.

AH.

Tonight, I made dinner using a recipe I found on pinterest.
OH MY WORD.
Sometimes, I make delicious things.
And sometimes I can't help but being really proud of myself.

I like home.

what summer's about

Next week I'll continue on with my 30 Things posts, but today, I want to tell you about my bomb diggity day I had yesterday.

Zac, Josh, and I took a sick day off of work.
We drove around in the Utah sun.
We watched Adventure Time.
We went for a run (Josh and I mostly watched Zac run haha ><).
They played video games while I napped and read Ender's Game.
We got lemonade from a lemonade stand, where four kids surrounded a lopsided table and dropped our cups and straws again and again in the grass. The wind and 45 degree angle didn't help, either.
We shared a Costco pizza and got ice cream bars.
We sat in the back of Josh's truck while the sun went down and talked and talked and talked.
We went back to Josh's house, where I read and they played Pokemon.
Zac and I didn't get home until 2 am.
Yesterday was what summer's about.
:]
Sorry I didn't have a camera.
><
But here's a picture anyway.
