Do What You Do, Boo
My eyes are itching from sleepiness. My heart is on fire from my callback this evening. I auditioned last week for a short film called, "Chile Fields." It's about a 17 year old girl who escapes an abusive home life and gets her car stuck in a ditch next to a chile field. We see her struggle with her family relationships as she gets to know a young man named Jorge, as his family life is so different from her own.
Certain experiences in my life helped a great deal in connecting and understanding the part I auditioned for. While at the callback tonight, I reached out to my partner with everything I had, and yet...I'm still unsure. My gut tells me not to get my hopes up, to wait and see. I just hope they saw who I am and what I have to offer. The hardest part is waiting. I'm also in three other short scenes at the moment, which will be taking up a large part of my time over the next few weeks.
Say prayers, send good vibes my way for this part. I went in with faith in God and faith in my ability. It may be hard accepting God's will as my own, but I'm trying. That's the most I can do.

I Am Someone to Him
Many times I have felt like I am not enough. When I was a little girl, I was often too shy to share what I had to say, too afraid of what others would think. I didn't like fighting. I didn't like yelling. I didn't like making a scene (...unless the grocery store didn't have my cereal then I LOST it. Right, Dad?) I liked playing outside, by myself, on my bike or high up in a tree, swaying in the branches as the wind blew. Somewhere quiet and solitary. When I was with friends, I wanted to keep the peace. It was difficult accepting no matter how hard I tried, sometimes I'd fall short of other's expectations and my own standards. It was to my solitary fortresses I'd go when I'd mess up. It's where I go now.
I'm still learning and forgiving. I am a Daughter of God. I am someone the Savior suffered for. I am someone He cared for. I am someone to Him. Even in my solitary moments. Even when I can't keep the peace. Even if I'm too shy to say what I need to say or afraid of what others will think. I am someone to Him.

Here's To Tonight
Oh, Luka. You are perfect.
I, however, am not. Excuse me for my lack of commitment to you, blog (and those who read it). BUT last week was an amazing workout week and this week I've made some major strides with my eating habits (FINALLY). I also recently got a new full time job three weeks ago with Property Solutions and am having a blast. Some days are difficult (like today...I had to leave work early because I had the ugliest migraine of all time and needed sleep. I slept for five hours when I got home and took medicine and felt much better). Who knew how demanding a full time job would be and how emotionally/physically draining? My body is slowly adapting to the new schedule (7am-3pm most days and 8am-4pm on Fridays and Saturdays). Tomorrow is my day off and I look forward to getting laundry done, going to BYU's surplus sale, and making a yummy creamy tomato and spinach pasta. Zac will also take tomorrow off from studying (FINALS WEEK MIGHT KILL HIM, GUYS) and we will finally spend more than 20 minutes together in one sitting. (: Mega excited over here. Don't mind me.
Tonight, for instance, we will eat cookies, watch The Hunt with Mads Mikkelson, and actually have a proper date. !!! I don't want tonight to end.

she be fine
MY HAIR IS RIDICULOUS.
Ah. That feels better. (:
I am so honored and shocked at the response my last workout post received! Thank you to all who visited and left encouraging comments. It's nice having that support system. So, thank you again.
This last week was BRUTAL. BRUTAL I TELL YOU. Zac came with me to the gym last Monday and watched me do my squats. He gave me some notes and I decreased the weight and went down further into my squat. HOLY MOLY. All week I've felt the extent of my exercises all because Mr. Zachary gave me the courage to do so! He's pretty dang great.
I'm getting stronger all the time and my confidence continues to grow. How amazing our bodies are and how blessed we are to have them. (: (So Chelsea, stop eating Sonic. ><)

All Girls Are Princesses
On this Sunday evening, I found myself longing for a good cry. Enter: A Little Princess. This movie was a special movie my dad and I shared as a young girl. Sarah's relationship with her father perfectly mirrored how I felt about my 'Papa.' Her absolute faith in him and in magic. Her belief in make believe. Her resilience in the face of adversity. Her strength in the unknown. She embodied how I wanted to be at her age, and upon watching it again today, has re-instilled my desire to be just as fearless.
Of course, I cried like a baby, so that wish was fulfilled. Have a happy Sunday, everyone. Remember, all girls are princesses.

werk it gurl
Okay. My hair was super crazy when I took these photos and my face looks like it's high but I promise I'm not. haha Anyway. GUYS. IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK IN THE GAME AND BLOGGING ABOUT IT.
I took three weeks off because I left my running shoes in LA during KCACTF and then saved up money to get my new shoes. I know it's a runner's sin, but I had my old shoes for four years before getting new ones. DON'T STONE ME. AH. haha My new shoes are Asics GT-2000 and exactly what I need for my heel striking cloppers.
As last week was my first week back at it, I am quite proud of the work I accomplished. It was sooo hard getting back in the swing of things, but felt so amazing. My body loves me. Good feelings all around.

Luka
Meet Luka! He's our very own lovable, adorable, and cuddly kitty. My heart bursts with joy whenever I get a moment like this with him. He loves laps. Laps are his thing. We brought him home from the Humane Society in Salt Lake last Tuesday. He warmed up to his new home and us quite quickly. Luka now sleeps with us throughout the night and wakes us up after our alarm goes off, which is very gentlemanly of him.
Expressing the exact love and devotion I have toward Luka is difficult. I've wanted a kitty of my own for almost five years and half of that time has been while married to Zac (wut). Close friends of mine know just how much Luka means to me. My mother's been like, "JUST GET A CAT." Well, Mom, we did it. (:
