LUDO, dinosaurs, and rubber ducks

FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES. Done. Complete. Annihilated. Owned. Awesome.

The first couple of weeks are gonna be the calm before the storm. Auditions and hopeful acting possibilities, potential writing projects, helping out backstage for an opera and a romantic comedy, performance groups for class, and TA awesomeness on the agenda for later in the semester. Gonna be all over the place with theatre, but man, I've missed it. It just feels so GOOD. Like I'm light, walking on my tip toes, my fingertips tingling. A very wonderful high (I've never been intoxicated, haha thank goodness, but I think this is what it'd feel like). Like I'm way too lucky to deserve the life I'm living at the moment. Theatre, husband, school, Ludo, dinosaurs, red lipstick. Yup. All set.

Please.
You'll thank me later.
:]

I came home from a full day of classes (9am-5pm) to find our apartment cleaned upside down, sideways, twisty turvy, all over, awesome! Zac also filled up our bathroom sink for my rubber duck. :] He was worried the water would drain before I got home. How adorable is that?!? Goodness.

a family recipe (i love you grandma)

Sometimes, school starts and you love it. Sometimes, you get to work two shows in one semester and you're pumped. Sometimes, you get offered new theatre//acting opportunities after heartfelt prayers the night before wondering if you'll ever be a part of theatre again. ;] Sometimes, you get to workshop new plays and imagine what you can create. Sometimes, you finally get into the dinosaur class you've wanted for three years and laugh the whole period. Sometimes, you cry because the house is so messy and then clean it with tears on your cheeks. Sometimes, you wipe away the tears and make a dinner that is close to your heart. Sometimes, things just work out and you can smile.

This is a family recipe, one that my Grandmother passed down to my Mother who passed it down to me.

Ingredients
1 lb of ground beef
1 can of Cream of Mushroom
1/2-Whole Onion
Milk
Salt//Pepper
Garlic Powder
(Not in original, added by me!)

Directions
Preheat oven to 350.
Mince onion as small as possible.
(Note--I didn't chop mine up so small. I wanted my onions chunky :])
Flavor ground beef with salt//pepper//garlic powder. Be generous!
Add in onion and roll into patties.
(1 in thick and about 3 in wide)
Heat up pan with a light coating of vegetable oil.
Cook patties until almost done.
Clean out pan once the patties are almost done.
Stir one can of Cream of Mushroom and half a can of milk together.
Dump the mixture into the clean pan.
Bake all of it (with a lid!) for half an hour in the oven.

Get ready for something so full of love, you can't speak.
I love you, Grandma.

28::29 Love Language and Misunderstood

28. What is your love language?

Haha When Zac and I were dating and engaged, we decided to know what our love languages were. At that time, mine was Physical Affection. Let’s see how I did a year and a half later! :D Go here to see yours

As of Now:
8 Words of Affirmation- One of the best parts of being married to him is having his support and encouragement. I haven’t been this confident in a long time. Thank you, honey. :)

9 Quality Time- Man, I love it when Zac spends time with me. I love going on walks. I love hearing what he has to say and offering my input. I love watching movies with him, laughing at ridiculous videos on Reddit, and running through sprinklers with him. Taking pictures with him. Gah. It never gets old!

2 Receiving Gifts- Don’t get me wrong, getting gifts from Zac is a huge surprise and I love it! But we don’t have a lot of money (haha) so gifts are usually Kit-Kat bars or little notes we leave each other. I got him a shirt yesterday, though! We don’t do that kind of stuff often, so it meant a lot to him that I cared enough to get him a new Tool shirt. :)

2 Acts of Service- Okay—I love it when he does things for me. It’s just not high on the priority list (for now). With kids later on, that will change I’m sure. Haha But for right now, I do my part and he does his and we get along swimmingly.

9 Physical Affection- Hehe. He’s a good kisser. ><

29. What do you think people misunderstand most about you?

How “strong” I am. I’m not always tough. I need to cry. I need to scream. I need to be held just like anyone else. I am independent, I am strong-willed. But don’t think I can always handle everything on my own.

25::26::27 History, Vanity, and Soapbox

25. If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be and what would you eat?

Oh. Good question. AUDREY HEPBURN. She was so classy and what a real person and woman should be. Of course, she wasn’t perfect, and I’d love to learn more about her. I’d definitely let her call the shots with where we’d eat and I’d try to not look like a fool. Dress my best in a nice dress and black flats. Wear lady perfume and walk the walk. I think I could see us either eating salad at a quiet cafĂ© or a burger place (haha).

26. What popular notion do you think the world has most wrong?

Eeek. I guess I’d say that you can have whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want without any sort of consequences. Or that Facebook is a place where political and/or religious debates should be/have to be shared just because you know how to Google and have an itch that needs to be scratched. Haha I write what I want on my blog because it’s my place to do so. But Facebook is for everyone, not just you. Share. Be kind. Think of others first. Let others know you love them rather than tear them down when they don’t live the way you were raised. You have no idea what someone’s gone through. Be a friend rather than an all knowing idiot. >< Whew. Got that off my chest and it felt pretty awesome. :)

27. What is your favorite part of your body and why?

Hmm. I’d have to go with my legs. As a runner, my legs show how hard I’ve worked and how far I’ve ran. They look splendid in skirts and killer in heels (haha). One calf muscle is bigger than the other, but that’s all right. Yay for running! :D
