dare to be feisty

It's amazing how feminine I feel today. Granted, I just popped a pimple on my cheek, I'm doing laundry, and I have yet to shower, but a new haircut makes all the difference. :) Yesterday I went to a professional salon for the first time since I was fourteen. Growing up, my artistic and beauty obsessed older sisters had fun with my head of hair and I didn't have to pay a cent! haha I've even cut my own hair from time to time here at college (oh, goodness).
I went to the new studio on byu's campus and got a wash, cut, and style for just $22. The whole time, I was nervous, but more nervous about making chit chat with my stylist than with what she was doing to my head. haha I just wanted to see the end result! We giggled with each other and commented on how soft my hair was after she chopped off four inches. I love feeling healthy and sometimes I worry I'm not too good to my hair (what with straightening it and letting it air dry without combing it through). But after I saw myself in the salon's mirror yesterday, my hair feels so much healthier and alive.
As do I!
haha

Feisty.
Also, I'm going to "The Fantasticks" tonight at the Covey Center. So excited! :D

bumblebee chelsea (part one)

Sunday evening through this morning was magical. Zac and I got to spend time with his family, who we haven’t seen in about a year. They drove up from California and stayed with a family friend in Syracuse while visiting us. Zac’s four year old brother, Ian, was so excited to see us. He couldn’t stop saying “Zac and…Chelsea!” His little lisp when he says my name just about broke my heart. By the end of their stay, he was calling me “Bumblebee Chelsea.”
Hugging Danielle, Marc, and Amer when they first arrived was so wonderful. Laughs were shared and memories made. Marc made us his famous Sunday breakfast dinner, we played Apples to Apples, and we sat under summer trees watching Ian run about our quad’s playground. We saw The Lorax at the dollar theatre and had an Outback dinner. Amer and I got pedicures together, watching the beach volleyball Olympics. And we had dinner last night with the Latham’s in Syracuse (yummy kfc haha). Zac and I had a super soaker fight, rode an airplane, and I clucked at the chickens. Then we had game after game of volleyball. I may or may not have hit the ball over the fence several times... haha Most fun I’ve had in a long time! We got back into Provo last night around midnight or so and they camped out in our small Wymount living room. We hugged them goodbye this morning as they pulled out of our parking lot.
I’m one lucky girl having married into such an awesome family!
:]
Part Two coming soon!
(more pictures haha)

i a m p r o u d o f m y s e l f

 My summer job ended yesterday.
Back in April, my calls averaged around 350+ seconds.
At the end of my stay with Devcon, my average dropped down to 264.
My fastest average for a day?
216 seconds.
:]
Bam that's how it's done.
See how happy I was yesterday? haha
I wanted to make each call count, so I didn't pay too much attention on keeping my average down. I focused on each customer, sales rep, and technician. One adorable old man asked me at the end of a call if I was a voice recording. I laughed and said I was indeed real. He laughed for a long time. Smiles all around. Also, Zac and I decided to compare our call stats of the day and relate them to pokemon stats. We divided the different calls into five categories (Credit Checks//HP, Welcome//Attack, Tech Set Up//Defense, Signals and QA//Special, Other//Speed). I TOTALLY WON. My HP and Attack doubled Zacs, but my defense was quite low. hahaha He's the greatest, right?

After work, Josh, Zac, and I went to In-N-Out for some celebrating.
Today, Zac went to work while I stayed home to get ready for his family coming to visit.
Here's how my day went:
Alarm went off at nine.
Woke up multiple times, got out of bed at 9:40.
Washed face, put on clothes, kissed Zac goodbye, went on errands with Emily and Tim.
Zac worked from 11am-7pm.
I came home from errands, napped, cleaned the house, did the laundry, vacuumed (thank you Bro//Sis Black!!) washed dishes, and almost finished the bathroom before Zac got home.
On my way to and fro the laundromat, I found a rather odd thing hiding behind some bushes.

AH.

Tonight, I made dinner using a recipe I found on pinterest.
OH MY WORD.
Sometimes, I make delicious things.
And sometimes I can't help but being really proud of myself.

I like home.

LOOK OUT DINOS

GUESS WHAT.
I just have two more days at my summer job. That's it. Just two glorious days of work and then I'm home free. And can you believe it, my last year of college EVER starts in 26 days.
Once school starts, I'll be a theatre history TA--grading papers, assignments, written tests, and holding section activities. I'll also be taking 15 (or so) credits this upcoming semester (maybe dropping some classes and definitely adding others). Wanna know what I'm taking currently? Of course you do. haha :]

TMA TA Instruction. Basically where I'll learn how to be a TA. Thank goodness for that. haha
Stats 121. Because it's a gen ed. And I have to. Blech.
Geology 100 (DINOSAURS). Because I really really really wanna take it. And it's a gen ed credit. (Official description of the class: "Hands-on examination of vertebrate fossils -- especially dinosaurs. For nonscience majors. Field trips."
Dramatic Lit 1
...and wait for it...
Acting Explorations
Comedic Sketch Writing
!!! Possibly the best schedule ever (minus stats?) Yeah. I think so.
I haven't been in an acting class in...a long time. I'm actually quite nervous how this will turn out...but I'm sure it'll be enjoyable. ><
I'm pretty pumped to see where this Comedic Sketch Writing class takes me. I want to stretch myself with my writing and this looked like just the ticket. :]
While lying in bed last night, thinking about my final year of college, I couldn't fall asleep. My nerves and excitement just kept me thinking and thinking. Ideas for plays rotated around and around. Worries about balancing between being a grader/ta and a friend in theatre history. Wondering if I'll audition for shows or not. Pondering me and Zac's relationship through it all.
But goodness gracious.
I'M FINALLY A SENIOR.

and here are some pictures i took today, celebrating my last three days of work. haha

7/24/2012

good night, tuesday

Today shall go down in history.
My first ever hair tutorial, perfect for the summer!
I thought I'd get a haircut today, but alas, due to Pioneer Day, all the salons I'd looked at were closed.
Kinda a bummer.
But then I took a nap, calmed down, and decided to do a hair tutorial.
A lot of people liked how my hair looked in this post, so I thought I'd share how to do it! Super easy and super pretty. :) My kinda girlishness.
Now let's get real.

1. Separate your hair in two sections.
(Note: I used day old hair. My hair needs to be a little greasy for it to stick. haha ><)

2. Separate one section of hair into two sections.
3. Twist the sections around up the side of your pretty little head.
4. Pin in place.

Yup. That just happened.

5. Repeat on the other side of your pretty little head.

6. Secure in place with more bobbie pins.
7. Tuck away any fly aways and smooth a little hairspray over the not so smooth places.

what i consider to be my "hobbies"

23. List your top 5 hobbies and why you love them.

Gonna be honest. The word "hobby" is odd to me. I do what I feel like doing whenever I feel like doing it. During school, I love school. I love studying (most of the time) and I love homework (if I could be a forever student, that'd be my dream). During the summer, I work, watch movies, hang out with Zac and Josh, and sometimes wake up before 10. "Hobbies" just kind of come in and fit in where I want them to. Making this list was ridiculous. As you'll find out.
Also, I didn't have 5 top hobbies. That's asking a bit much. I only have four. So there! haha

30 Things

7/20/2012

oh gosh don't look over here.

I'm still awake.
Because I just got home from the dark knight rises midnight premier.
I'll write more about it later.
Because I'm still awake and I don't want to be.

Zac and I also ran into his ex girlfriend and her husband at the premier.
He hasn't seen her in about 3 years.
><
I'll leave it at that.
haha Definitely hilarious and a little awkward.
